Our members are taking a well deserved hiatus to recuperate from their volunteer work. This past year, the Housing Action Team developed a survey of employees and employers to determine their housing needs. From that Housing Impact Report, the team created a petition aimed at limiting short-term vacation rentals throughout Mendocino County. It received over 500 signatures and was presented to the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors with a report suggesting several ways to address the issue that is affecting thousands of county workforce residents.
The board of supervisors and executive office of the county board of supervisors have our basic recommendations for the elements of a Short Term Rental ordinance. We are hopeful that there will be some news from the county in August, 2022. Check here or on Facebook for news.
